PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Alphatec PC took a holistic approach that delivered value to the UDC School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) through cross-disciplinal architectural and engineering problem solving, to provide best value design solutions to the University. Alphatec developed an efficient and effective A/E design solution, ensuring that the new Air Handling Units responded positively to HVAC load demands and DCMR Green Building Guidelines. Our design creatively used drops and rise fittings to integrate the HVAC distribution system within the existing plenum restrictions. This innovative approach resolved challenges with construction cost, project timeline, and extent of disturbance to Academic activities.
